I found some time to paint, but instead of working on some of the longer term projects I decided to play and do this exercise that my painting teacher Pat used to have me do when I got stuck or bored or needed to do something with more energy. Some of you may have done this before and it is a lot of fun. You make a bunch of watercolor washes and then kind of go crazy with the watercolor techniques at random. New Art

So things have settled down quite a bit and I have found some time to draw and paint. I have pulled out all the paintings which I haven't finished over the years and strewn them all over the house so that I can stare at them and think about them and decide what to do with them next. My dining room table is covered with my painting supplies. I take my sketch book with me everywhere and colored pencils so I can draw wherever. I have even found some people to talk about art with. It has been almost a year with the last journal entry up and since then much has changed. I have not been painting much in the last several months. Things have been rather hectic and upsetting and not conducive to a good painting trance. With much effort, I started a new sketch and picked up a sketch for a painting I started almost two years ago now. I found the later amongst my things whilst I was packing and unpacking during my latest move. It is sort of a return to bugs in the style of Cicada. The move has been good for me.
